WHAT IS SEO?
SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) is the process of improving the visibility (ranking) of a web page in the results of a search engine and subsequently generating more (organic/natural) traffic to that page from people that are searching in the likes of Google, Bing or Yahoo for the product, service or information that the page is about.
Whilst many will claim that there is some kind of secret dark art to SEO, the principle has always been the same from the perspective of a search engine. Provide useful and valuable content to your website’s target audience and the engine will attempt to return the most relevant, authoritative and trustworthy results to the searcher. The key of course is to try and ensure your website’s content and value is better than your competitions.
Search engines build very clever algorithms and formulas to determine how to rank web pages for search queries. There are over 200 individual ranking factors that are analysed before ranking pages in the search engine results.
In order to tick as many of these off as possible is where we come in. We have the experience and expertise to know what optimisation actions to take on a web page and how much of am impact it could have.
Essentially, anyone that runs a website and wants people to be able to find it online would benefit from some level of search engine optimisation.
There is little point in running a website that nobody can find and optimising your website for search engines gives your website that extra chance of driving more traffic to you.
