Community nutritionist Dr. Tan Shot Yen strongly criticized the Free Nutritious Food Program (MBG) in front of members of the council.
In an audience meeting with the House of Representatives Commission IX, Dr.Tan asserted that the direction of the MBG program actually prioritizes instant products than native or local food.
He also highlighted the MBG menu which distributed Ultra Processed products and instant foods.
He found, the menu that was distributed was in the form of burgers, spaghetti, to instant noodles, instead of protein sources such as fish or eggs.
