Every year, the Comic-Con San Diego is filled with visitors who have a Cosplay as their favorite fictional character.
Various fictional figures enliven the area of the convention center and the gaslamp quarter area on Saturday (7/26).
The costumes worn are also varied, ranging from giant robots to glinda bearded from Wicked.
Chad Atwell, a participant from Pittsburgh, appeared as The Thing from Fantastic Four.
He said cosplay was a way to channel creativity outside of daily work.
Some cosplayers, like Cash Branson, even spend months to make costumes.
He hopes their presence can arouse joy for others who see it.
