Five stars in Cyprus again imposed a “Sunlight Guarantee” program for the second year.
This guarantee allows hotel guests to claim to stay free if the weather is sunny when they are on vacation there.
City of Dreams Mediterranean, a hotel with 500 rooms that opened in 2023, claimed that with nearly 340 sunny days on the island, they could promise the best weather for a vacation.

The hotel stated the sunny sky was present almost throughout the year.However, this good weather promise might be interesting for those who plan to stay overnight during the quiet season (
low-season
), when bad weather is more likely to occur.
Claims and provisions
In the event of rain, City of Dreams offers one night for free stay for every day without sunlight, which can be exchanged for a stay in the next six months.
To meet the requirements of this claim, guests must order directly through the hotel.
The hotel defines “sunny weather” as a day with at least 70 percent of direct sunlight between 09.00 to 17.00, based on data from the Accuweather weather forecast site.
In addition to staying free, guests affected by weather can also claim 15 percent discount for future inpatients, plus daily breakfast and 100 euro vouchers for use in restaurants, bars, spas, fitness centers, or hotel casinos.
This offer applies to all direct orders made from August 1 to 30 September, with a stay period from October 16, 2025 to March 31, 2026.
Similar weather guarantees schemes are also offered by other providers.Online travel agents and First Choice tour operators, in collaboration with Sensible Weather protection providers, allow tourists to claim money back in case of heavy rains.
Sensible Weather will track weather forecasts during the vacation package and send compensation payments to affected customers.
