The absolute winner with more than 60 percent of the votes for the best cabin crew uniform is Singapore Airlines.
CEO Airlinerangs.com, Sharon Petersen, stated that the uniform “remains one of the most iconic symbols of the Jet era, and I really hope they never changed it.”
The iconic kebaya sarong worn by the Singapore Airlines cabin crew was adapted by the Paris fashion designer, Pierre Balmain, in 1974 and remains one of the most easily recognized uniforms in the world.
Emirates ranks second for the best flight attendant uniform, while the current New Zealand water uniforms are designed by Trelise Cooper in third place along with the Australian Virgin Uniform.
New Zealand water uniform itself will experience a big change with a new design from Emilia Wickstead, which will be launched throughout the airline network starting in 2026.
In another category, the award for the best aircraft livery design was won by Qantas, followed by Etihad in second place, and Air New Zealand in third place.
Petersen claimed to be a little surprised by the results.He suspects that the Pacific airlines such as Tahiti Nui or Fiji Airways will rank higher.
“But in the end they cannot surpass the wealth of the golden livery of Etihad, Qantas’s iconic flying kangaroos, or the beauty of the striking New Zealand Air Koru Air symbol combined with its typical black-and-white fern design,” he said, as reported by
