The application of the Cascade Visa to Indonesia has actually been agreed by the two parties during the state visit of President Prabowo Subianto and European Union President Ursula Von Der Leyen to Brussels on July 13.
With a cascade visa, Indonesian citizens can enter Europe many times without having to take care of documents every time they want to travel.Initially, the Cascade visa only valid 90-180 days, but with this policy it could be valid for up to 5 years.
“So, Indonesian citizens who have at least one second visa in the last three years are now entitled to get a multiple entry visa with a validity period of up to five years,” Airlangga said in his office on Thursday (7/31).
In addition, Indonesia has also provided a visa on Arrival for 27 European Union countries.
Therefore, he believes the cooperation of the two countries will have an impact on the domestic economy.Because, business people can more easily travel to Europe.
“I think this new policy will have a direct impact on the economy and business. Our business mobility now has more flexibility so that entrepreneurs can now attend trade shows, business forums, and investment meetings throughout the European Union more easily,” he concluded.
Visa Cascade is one of the concrete steps of cooperation to strengthen the agreed European Indonesia-Umi relations.
The Cascade Visa policy itself is the third point of strengthening cooperation between Indonesia and the European Union, especially in the aspect of inter -community connectivity.
The Schengen Multi-Entry Visa owner can enter the European Union repeatedly with the same visa document.According to Von Der Leyen, the policy can make it easier for Indonesian citizens who want to visit, learn, and network in the European Union.
